My Friend Lynne

At this time of the year we start thinking about what is important to us. Well that is why I wanted to tell you about my friend Lynne and how thankful I am to have her as a friend.

Lynne and I met about fourteen years ago at an Antique Mall in Alpharetta, Georgia where we both rented booths and sold antiques and collectibles. I still worked for AT&T at that time and Lynne was making her living in the antique business.

I really can't say when we became such good friends. I just know it seems like she has always been there. After a few years Lynne moved to Florida to be closer to her family. I really thought we would probably not keep in touch because so many people don't.

But we did and we do. We try to talk at least once a week and sometimes more. Two years ago I packed up my car with my sewing machine, all of my fabric, and embellishmemts and off to Florida I went. When I got there she had made this sign. And it was hanging on the chandlier in her dinining room. But now is hanging in my sewing room.

For the next week we did nothing but eat, sleep and sew and sew and sew. She taught me things that she knew and I taught her things I knew. Ever since sewing has been my passion.

I want to introduce you to some of her creations. She sells on Ebay and if you are interested just click on the link below the picture and it will take you to her auction.

So I guess what I am trying to say is friends are so very important and we all need to keep them close and let them know every day what they mean to us.

Thank you Lynne for being my friend.

Well, I'm stuffed. Tony and I picked up Tony's brother Billy and off to Tony's sister Bobbie's house for a great Thanksgiving dinner.

Bobbie, a gourmet cook, takes on this dinner every year and never wants any help. So I try to bring her a gift every year to let her know how much we appreciate her. This year it was one of my Christmas Pillows.

We really look forward to this day because we don't get to see them as often as we would like.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and were able to be with your families.

Family is so very important.

Your friend
Charlotte

My New Blog and My First Post "About Me and My Family"

Well, this is my first post on my new blog. Who would have ever believed I would start a Web Site http://www.mrscharlottesboutique.com/ much less a Blog at my age. I will be sixty five in nine days. A senior citizen!! Wow!!

A little bit about myself and my family:

I have been married to my wonderful husband Tony for thirty one years. We have a great son, Trevor, that we are so proud of. Trevor is from Tony's first marriage but he is also the best son a step-mom could possibly ever have.

Tony and I also have two girls in our lives. Cally, a wonderfully smart and loving Calico Cat that is four years old.

And her sister Fluffy, a beautiful and very spoiled Maine Coon Cat.

Tony's passion is his yard that he has designed and made more beautiful every year. He has a very green thumb and has made our lives beautiful. I could not tell you what any of the plants are, bu I do know how wonderful they make me feel and how much joy they put into our lives.

My passion is decorating and re-decorating my beautiful home. I can never seem able to stop changing things and making them different. My husband never knows what it is going to look like tomorrow. But I do seem to keep the same theme. I love the French Country look so I always stay with that decorating theme.

And sewing for my new website "Mrs. Charlotte's Boutique http://www.mrscharlottesboutique.com/

My website is this years greatest accomplishment. I am so proud that I had the courage to open site. I had no idea how much went into having a successful web site. Choosing a host for my site, finding a designer to design one especially for me. And getting my name out on the web.

I finally decided to go with PappaShop http://www.pappashop.com/ for my host and can not say enough great things about them. Their support team is the greatest. Always there to help you out of anything you get yourself into.

My first web designer was a great person and really did a nice site for me but it did not have that special look that I was hoping to get. Then I found Victoria of Victoria's Shabby Cottage http://www.victoriasshabbycottage.com/. Victoria knew exactly what I needed and wanted. She gave me a design that truly reflected what my website was all about.

The next person that I found was Catherine of Shabby Lane Shops http://www.shabbylaneshops.com/. I was reading my "Romantic Homes" magazine that just came in that days mail and ran across a ad for Shabby Lane Shops.

My interest peek immediately and I checked them out. I joined Shabby Lane Shops in March of this year and it was the single best decision I have made concerning my site.

Catherine is a wonderful owner, she is always there to help all of her shop owners. She has help me in so many ways to get my shop and my name out there so I can be as successful as possible.

I started out making handmade One of a Kind Handbags:
Romantic, Denim, and many other styles

but before long I had added Handmade Quilted and Patchwork Jackets some with matching handbags.

And beautiful Victorian Pillows that I have just recently started making. I love to create them and what as they get prettier with each stitch.

I also sell new and vintage jewelry. There are necklaces , earrings, pendants, brooches, and rings of all kinds.

Starting in December I am adding Natural Gemstones to my inventory. Gemstones have always fascinated me. I love the fact that they come from all over the world in every color of the rainbow and have a mystery about each one of them. I have been collecting for a long time and have decided to let go of most of my collection. Watch for them in early December on my web site.
Well, I guess I have talked about myself long enough. Just wanted you to know a little more about me and my family.
